news/ ‘I don’t want to sell at night again’ – 'Indomie' seller remembers June 3 disaster. by jwade(f) : 5:24 am On May 31

One year after a tragic flood and fire disaster, a woman who narrowly survived death says she is too traumatized to return to the streets to sell at night.

Joycelyn said her decision not to sell at the Goil Filling Station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra, saved her life.

The filling station became the site of a cruel tragedy after a gas explosion left charred remains of persons who had sought refuge from the floods at the station.

At least 152 fatalities were recorded in the combined tragedy of extreme floods and an explosion.

Joycelyn explained that she usually sold Indomie at night in front of the Goil Filling Station. She closed in the morning to return in the afternoon. She later puts in one lasting working shift again at night.

When it began raining on June 3, 2015, she was discouraged from setting up her table-top sales point for the evening shift.

“I said, let me sleep so that tomorrow, I can go to morning the devotion,” she told Joy News’ Francis Abban.

Not victimized by the explosion, Joycelyn was victimized by the flood as a deluge of dirty water broke into her home.

“It was more than the sea”, she recalled.

Together with her sister, they abandoned any further attempt to salvage their belongings to save their lives.

Joycelyn says she climbed tables in panic as she struggled to get out of her room to safer ground.

The fear-stricken woman said she waded and swam out of danger naked. Junkies sexually rubbed themselves on her in the progress of helping her to safety.

“Those junkies, they were holding my buttocks, but that day where my mind was, I just thank God that I survived,” Joycelyn said.

A terrified and panicky mother of a rice seller nearby who could not find her daughter, Emelia, gave her a cloth to save her human dignity.

“I told her she will come. The next day we found Emelia on the floor [dead]” Joycelyn choked back emotions.

One year later, Joycelyn no longer sells Indomie at the Goil Filling Station.

“I am afraid if something happens again. I don’t want to sell in the night again” she said.

Joycelyn now sells banku and okro stew at a location she believes spared her the trauma of June 3, 2015, disaster.

Her story is one of the estimated thousands who were affected by the floods.

Afi, a mentally challenged woman slept on the streets of Adabraka during the flooding.

The shelter she uses as her home was ravaged by the fire. The property is now up for sale and Afi has no place to sleep at night.

She is now pregnant and does not know the father of her unborn baby.

Parents feel like hacking into their children WhatsApp account and partners want to access their partner’s WhatsApp account. We are not encouraging hacking here. Rather, we are bringing out this information so that you are more knowledgeable in this regard and nobody can h*ck you so easily!

The next question, that comes to our mind how somebody can h*ck into your WhatsApp account? Don’t worry you are just a few steps away from learning it.

Warning: HACKING IS AN OFFENCE. We share this only for information and knowledge sharing purpose. Remember that you own the total responsibility for any hacking activity that you are carrying out!

Below are the few methods of actually hacking into someone’s WhatsApp account. Please remember that you need brief physical access to target’s phone in all the methods.

Method 1: Using WhatsApp PC version and Target’s phone:

Open web.whatsapp.com in your pc browser.
Then go to his/her WhatsApp messenger app > options > WhatsApp web.
Scan the QR code displayed on the pc screen. You can now see all WhatsApp chats of the target
Do not forget to check ‘Keep me logged in‘ option for future usages.

Note: Whenever you want to access target’s WhatsApp, he/she should be connected to working Internet connection.
Method 2: By Using Target’s Phone

MAC-spoofing

Step 1: Uninstall WhatsApp from your phone.

Step 2: Get hold of the phone you want to hack.

Step 3: Find the MAC address of that phone. It’ll be in six pairs like- 01:43:65:87:98:cb

For Android, go to Settings – About phone – Status – WI-Fi MAC address.
For iPhone, go to Settings – General – About – WI-Fi Address.
For Windows phone, find this in Settings – About – More info – MAC address.
For BlackBerry, go to Options – Device – Device and Status info – WLAN MAC.

Step 4: Now find your MAC address also and save both MAC addresses at any safe place.

Step 5: Install MAC spoofing apps for changing the MAC address of your phone. For iPhones install MacDaddy X or WifiSpoof. And for Android you can install some free apps like BusyBox and Terminal Emulator, which are available on Google play store.

Step 6: Now open the app in the terminal, type “IP link show” to see a list of interfaces. Identify the one that has your MAC address and select it.

Step 7: Install WhatsApp on your phone but do not enter your phone number, enter your target’s phone number to set up WhatsApp rather than your own.

Step 8: When you no longer need to access your target’s WhatsApp account, change your MAC address back to what it was. By following the same method as above.

Crime/ Kumasi students abandon school for ‘Sakawa’ after colleague hits GHC1b by jwade(f) : 6:38 am On Jun 01

Students at Suame in the Ashanti region are abandoning the classrooms for internet scam, popularly known as Sakawa, after one of their colleagues hit a jackpot of GHC1billion through the fraudulent practice.
Authorities of one of the most affected schools, the Suame King Faisal Islamic junior high school, are therefore calling on government to intervene in order to save the future of the community.
A teacher at the school, Michael Womowura told Ultimate FM’s Isaac Bediako Justice that most of the students do not return to their classrooms after the first break.
“This kind of Sakawa thing that has come, we have some children who were here and have not finished and they have won money so they have stopped coming. There was one guy here called Sammy he won almost GHC1 billion and now he is gone to Germany.
“So now a days, if you go into every internet café, the children are there looking for fast money. Now they know that they can win money so we are begging the government to make laws to shut internet cafes from the morning till about 2:30pm.
“As we speak, if you go to the internet cafe right now you will see the students there looking for money and if a teacher should go there and stop them, they will embarrass and hoot at you. And because you are just one person you cannot do anything about it and not even the Police are willing to stop them,” he lamented.
He added that the more a particular teacher tries to stop students from the act, the more the students hated him and so teachers are reluctant to pursue them since they do not want to create enemies for themselves.
Sakawa is a widespread practice in Ghana and other African countries which combines modern Internet-based fraud practices with ethnic (traditional) or religious rituals. The rituals which are mostly in the form of sacrifices are made so that a supreme being aids them (culprits) in getting whatever they may ask from their victims without their victims denying their request.
The term Sakawa initially referred to specific online scams but has since broadened to include all types of online frauds and scams mainly targeting foreigners.

Some victims of the June 3rd Kwame Nkrumah Circle disaster which occurred last year have revealed that their close shave with death on that eventful Wednesday has drawn them more closer to the Almighty God.
According to the victims, their continuous survival despite the life threatening encounter has made them realize how the Supreme Being loves them and the need to serve him diligently.

I have now decided to dedicate my entire life to Allah and allow him to let His will be done in my life,” Kassum Siraj said.

Celebrities/ Caroline cites Mzbel as major reason for quitting Celebrity Fanzone by jwade(f) : 6:59 am On Jun 01

Caroline Sampson, a former co-host of Celebrity Fanzone and presenter at YFM has revealed why she quit the biggest celebrity and lifestyle show in Ghana.
Caroline, who made an appearance on the satirical talk show, Tonight with Nii Kpakpo Thompson on Viasat1 last Friday, stated that being very blunt on the show did not go down well with a lot of industry players which resulted in her decision to quit.
“I am not really the type that succumbs to a lot to pressure from outside, but this one got to me…especially the issue with Mzbel. It wasn’t solely fair to me,” Caroline disclosed.
Caroline made certain statements sometime last year while co-hosting Celebrity Fanzone about the paternity of Mzbel’s son, which the songstress did not take lightly. Although Caroline came out to defend what she said and explained that she didn’t mean to put Mzbel in a bad light, the latter was adamant and set social media ablaze with several attacks. Fans of the musician also joined to attack Caroline’s personality, forcing her to withdraw from the show.
“I think it got to the point where I cared so much about what others thought of what I said on the show because we are in an industry where a lot of people just don’t like criticisms, they only want the praise, so when issues come and we talk about it and am very blunt, the subjects and objects of interest, there at the time tend to think I hate them, so I was like, you know what let me just chill and come on as guest every other time,” Caroline explained.
Asked by host, Nii Kpakpo how her relationship with Mzbel is after their public banter, Caroline stated flatly, “we are not friends; we see each other, say ‘hi’, that’s all.”
Caroline celebrated her ten years of working in the media industry last Friday and had a word of caution for all the ladies who are yearning to become single mothers.
“Single motherhood is not a career, it can be very hard so people shouldn’t aspire to become single mothers. Prevention is better than cure” the YFM presenter cautioned

Phones/ USB OTG CABLE - 7 IMPORTANT THINGS YOU CAN USE IT FOR ANDROID DEVICES by jwade(f) : 5:46 am On Jun 05

OTG is short for On-The-Go. It is a standard that allows devices to talk(connect) to one another. OTG is a simple that can do a lot of amazing things but a lot of people have not even heard about it, some have heard about it but don't know what it is or what it does.

In this post, I'll be listing a few cool stuffs you can do with a USB OTG cable.

Connecting A Game Pad To An Android Device

For a hardcore gamer, playing games on an android screen just won't be good enough. However with the use of an OTG cable, you can easily connect your game pad to your android phone and get the same gaming experience as on a Playstation or Xbox.

Connecting A Mouse To Your Android Phone

With the aid of an OTG cable you can connect a mouse to your android device. When a mouse is connected to your Android using a USB OTG cable, a mouse pointer appears on the screen allowing you to click to select and open items on the screen.
The touch screen continues to function as normal even when a mouse is connected.

Sharing Battery Charge Between Two Devices

This days, we see devices with extra large battery capacities like the oukitel K10000 with 10,000mah or Tecno L8 with 5050mah. All that battery is too much to use alone, with OTG you can share some of that battery with friends and families... Enemies too just to make them jealous.. Lol
To share battery charge between two phones, all you need is an OTG cable and a regular charger cable.
When you have everything ready, connect the charger cable to one of the phones and connect the OTG cable to the other phone. Attach the two cables together, the phone with a smaller charge level will start to charge.
The charging will continue until the batteries of both phones has almost the same level of charge. However you can stop the charging anytime by disconnecting the cables.

Connecting A Modem To Your Phone/Tablet

People who have WiFi only tablets or devices without 3G support might need to use 3G Modem with their Android device to get something downloaded quickly when their broadband is too slow or down.
This can be done using an Android app called PPP Widget. Just as the name suggests, it is a widget, not an app. It is available for free in the Play Store. You can download it to your device from here.

Superfast File Transfer Between Two Devices

There are various methods of transferring files between devices like Bluetooth, Hot Knot, Xender/flash share etc. However there are often complications when using some of these methods. One of safest ways to share files between two Android devices is sharing it via OTG.
You can make a direct connection between the two Android phones/tablets and transfer files between Android via USB OTG.

Connecting A Keyboard To Your Android Device

A USB keyboard can be connected to your Android Device using a USB OTG cable, touch inside a text input area to start typing using the keyboard.
The on-screen keyboard is hidden when a physical keyboard is connected.
Some of the key combinations that perform actions on Windows also function on a phone/tablet, in most apps. For example, you can Cut using (Ctrl + X), Copy using (Ctrl + C), and Paste using (Ctrl + V) on your keyboard.

Connecting A Flash Drive To Your Android Device

Certain devices like the S6 and S6 edge do not support SD card instead they come with internal storage ranging from 16GB to 128GB.
So when your storage is full you have no choice but to start deleting older files to collect new ones. However by connecting a flash drive to your Android device, you get more storage space at your disposal.

These are some of the coolest uses of an OTG cable.

Business/ 7 Habits of sucessful enterrenuers by jwade(f) : 5:57 am On Jun 05

A study of the world most successful Entrepreneurs revealed a lot about their habits that put them on the road to greatness and achievements. Entrepreneurs are often considered to be people with an extra
ordinary charisma; however, the truth is that, they are just like everyone else. “I have no special talents, I am only passionately curious”, Albert Einstein. What made them different is only in what they do. These set of people have succeeded in engaging themselves constantly in those habits that focuses them on achieving results, no matter how small. The good news is that anyone can cultivate these habits, to climb the ladder of success.
THEY KEEP A TO-DO LIST. Entrepreneurs are among the busiest people in the world. They are expected to be everywhere and do everything at the same time, from keeping their business on the balance, to initiating new ones, to managing the employees, to keeping in direct touch with the customers, following investors, pursuing debtors, being a responsible family person. You might be wondering how difficult it is for an entrepreneur to coordinate all these successfully. To them, it is not as difficult as you might see it, not when they have their TO-DO-LIST handy. “With my To-Do-List, I don’t have to worry about distractions, because I already have my priorities and when to do them”, Okeke Obinna of Voice Of Passion.
2. THEY WAKE UP EARLY. Successful Entrepreneurs are early risers; this helps them to get their day underway before everyone else. Waking up early puts you in a relaxed mood, because you will get things done without having to rush through them before officially starting your day. Successful Entrepreneurs know this and they adopted it as a habit.
3. THEY MEDITATE. Successful Entrepreneurs have made daily meditation a ritual they observe religiously. Meditation is very important to keep you in tune with yourself and what you truly want and keeps you focused with new inspirations. Entrepreneurs keep their every pieces of thought together through meditating on them. “The noise in the environment is always too loud and overwhelming if not properly handled, and I have found the best way to take care of my soul not leaving my body in meditation”, Prof. Mongr. Obiorah Ike.
4. THEY SET GOALS AND FOCUS ON RESULTS. Setting goal is a different thing and focusing on result is another one. Setting a goal without focusing on the result is typically being busy just like everyone else. Successful Entrepreneurs know what they want to achieve and they focus on it. Merely doing anything to get by is not their method; they have a strategy and a deadline. They realize that when you focus on results, not everything you get is good enough.
5. THEY NETWORK. Networking is a sure way to leverage yourself and what you are offering. It is a cost effective way to become successful. Successful Entrepreneurs know this and they mastered the art of networking. Attending social events, cocktail parties, Anniversaries, trade fairs and exhibitions, auctions and other networking events has become a great part of their lifestyle. They know who is new in town and who is doing what in every sector. Taking advantage of your networks puts you on the limelight and that is what Successful Entrepreneurs do.
6. THEY KNOW WHEN TO SAY NO. Every day, you are likely to be presented with great ideas, huge opportunities, new offers and so many other things that will appeal to your interest. You are likely to face personal challenges and pressure, the desire to take a break, have more vacation, stay longer in bed and work long hours and all that will be among the things battling for your consideration. Your reaction to them defines your growth and impacts on your works. Successful Entrepreneurs know this and they apply the NO approach. Saying No to all these, means saying yes to yourself and the task at hand. Great Entrepreneurs use the power of focus to stay on course and that entails saying No almost all the time.
7. THEY MANAGE THEIR MONEY. Financial management is a strong habit of every successful Entrepreneur. They go through their financial statements line by line, very detailed about their cash inflow and outflow. It’s a general opinion that entrepreneurs are stingy lots; however, it might surprise you to know that they are the biggest spenders, only that they spend more on assets. Financial management is a habit successful entrepreneurs can’t do without.

Celebrities/ The Truth: Rapper Kwaw Kese Actually BEGGED For A Picture With Kanye West by jwade(f) : 5:36 pm On Jun 07

I am very sure you have seen the above photo of Kwaw Kese somewhere online this past weekend. All the major news website and entertainment blogs carried it, not excluding your favourite blog GhanaCelebrities.Com.
Kwaw Kese captioned the photo “#MakingMoves just met @kanyewest at the Mercer hotel” and added that Kanye is the coolest dude.
Take a good look at the picture folks. And tell me you can’t see that the only moves being made by the Madtime Entertainment boss is begging Kanye for a selfie?
It’s as simple as ABC.
Kanye happened to be at the hotel the same time as Kwaw Kese was in the hotel. One party was obviously star struck and it obviously wasn’t Yeezus.
What then do you do? Kwaw pleads for a selfie like every crazy fan out there and his request was granted—-I believe.
We would plead with our stars to stop taking pictures with real celebrities out there and deceive us with over-the-top captions. We’ve had enough of that!

Food/ Ghana declared ‘the only jollof superpower’ as quality report downgrades Nigerian jollof due to tomato shortage by jwade(f) : 2:28 am On Jun 09

hana has consolidated its position as the world’s sole jollof superpower after a major tomato shortage in Nigeria forced experts to downgrade the Nigerian version of the tomato-base rice dish.

The 2016 World Quality Report says a nationwide tomato shortage in Nigeria has affected the quality of made-in-Nigeria jollof, relegating it to several places behind the almighty Ghana jollof. The report which described Nigerian jollof as “paler than Casper the ghost,” advised jollof lovers to “avoid the tomato-deprived Nigerian jollof as a matter of public health risk.”

Analysis of jollof samples from Nigeria recorded low levels of tomato sauce, prompting experts to question Nigeria’s credentials as a jollof superpower. “The jollof coming out of Nigeria these days is so white you could easily camouflage a white plastic spoon in it,” the report noted. Jollof samples from Ghana however revealed a combination of high quality long grain perfume rice and a generous amount of rich tomato sauce, giving the Ghanaian version “a flavour that can only be described as divine.”

The report advised Nigeria to withdraw from the ongoing Jollof Wars until it resolves the issue of tomato shortage. “He who fights the Jollof Wars must first ensure his tomato game is on point,” the report concluded.
