Web Design/ what to consider before creating your website by ambrose0012(m) : 5:04 am On Jul 15

Many people don't have the slightest idea about what they need to put in place before creating a website.

Things to consider are list below

Web Design/ See How Bloggers Make Money by ambrose0012(m) : 5:20 am On Jul 15

Most of the time when people ask you what you do for a living and you tell them you are a blogger, the next question to follow that is almost always, “How does a blogger make money?” Most people I’m acquainted with don’t even realize that a blog is something you can earn money from!.

So How Do Bloggers Make Money?

When people ask me this, I usually just give them the short answer — advertisers. And while that’s certainly a large part of it, it’s not the only way bloggers earn. So today I’m breaking down for you the primary ways bloggers earn an income from home, in case you’re one of those people who didn’t know that blogs can make you money.

#1 – Ad Networks

Ad networks are often the main earner for many bloggers and definitely the easiest to maintain because it’s possible to “set it and forget it” once it’s in place. Bloggers sign up with popular ad networks like Google Adsense or Media.net and place code in the sidebar, header, footer, or inside posts that will display third party advertisements. These usually pay bloggers a certain amount per thousand impressions or a certain amount per click.

#2 – Direct Advertising

Bloggers often sell advertising directly instead of, or in addition to, using ad networks. What this means is that the blogger is in direct contact with specific advertisers and will be able to negotiate rates and approve or disapprove advertisers based on whether or not what the advertiser wants to promote is a fit for their audiences.

With ad networks, the blogger doesn’t have as much control over these things, so many bloggers do prefer direct advertising because of the amount of control they have.

#3 – Affiliates

This is another form of advertising, but instead of getting paid a flat rate or a certain amount per click or impression as you do with advertisers, the blogger gets paid a certain amount per lead or per sale of what they are promoting. For example, I’m signed up with the ShopHer affiliate network (as are many bloggers) because they have a lot of paid survey and money-saving offers that will appeal to my readers. I can earn a commission every time I link to one of their offers on this blog and use the affiliate link they provide that is unique to that offer.

Then, if a reader clicks through the link and buys or signs up for what I recommended, I will earn a small amount of money per lead or per sale!

As a blogger, you have complete control over what products and services you want to promote as an affiliate, so it is possible to only recommend things you approve of.

#4 – Selling Your Own Products & Services

A blog is an excellent platform for selling your own stuff. I know many bloggers that offer services like coaching, graphic design, virtual assisting, and writing. Bloggers can also sell products like e-books they’ve written or crafts they’ve made.

Another idea – If you are involved in any direct sales opportunity (example: Chloe + Isabel jewelry or similar) you can use your blog as a platform to promote those items and/or build your downline.

#5 – Sponsored Posts

I don’t do a lot of these here, but many bloggers earn money by writing posts paid for by advertisers to promote the products and services of different companies. Most bloggers can charge hundreds of dollars for these because it’s a form of permanent advertising for the company the post is written for. However, sponsored posts must be disclosed as sponsored so the reader understands when they see the post that it was paid for by the company.

Most bloggers do not do this for just any advertiser and are very selective because it would reflect badly on them to help promote a company that isn’t that awesome.

Phones/ Twitter now lets anyone request a verified account by ambrose0012(m) : 12:15 am On Jul 21

Twitter is opening the blue checkmark to everyone. Starting today, the company will let users request a verified account on its website by filling out a form with a verified phone number and email address, a profile photo, and additional information regarding why verification is required or helpful. In defining who will get approved, Twitter still says "an account may be verified if it is determined to be of public interest." Prior to today, Twitter tended only to verify public figures, brands, and people in media, politics, sports, business, and other high-profile sectors.

"We want to make it even easier for people to find creators and influencers on Twitter so it makes sense for us to let people apply for verification," said Tina Bhatnagar, Twitter's vice president of user services, in a statement. "We hope opening up this application process results in more people finding great, high-quality accounts to follow, and for these creators and influencers to connect with a broader audience."

"TWITTER FAVORS REAL NAMES AND ACCURATE PROFILE PHOTOS WHEN DECIDING WHO GETS VERIFIED"

It's unclear why Twitter is opening the process to the public. The company says it has about 187,000 verified accounts, but around 310 million monthly active users. The disparity there, alongside increased pressure to provide anti-harassment tools, means more and more users may only be interacting with those who share their verification status. For instance, Twitter lets verified users filter their notifications to only show replies, mentions, or likes by other verified users. (The new Engage app offers some of those features to regular users as well.)

This is by design, as Twitter's harassment problem as grown so bad that certain subsets of high-profile users on the platform have chosen not to subject themselves to the random attacks of strangers. Just yesterday, comedian and Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones was subjected to an extreme amount of racist remarks and hate speech from largely anonymous users, pushing her to call for better stronger Twitter guidelines. "We rely on people to report this type of behavior to us but we are continuing to invest heavily in improving our tools and enforcement systems to prevent this kind of abuse," a Twitter spokesperson told BuzzFeed in response to Jones' comments. "We realize we still have a lot of work in front of us before Twitter is where it should be on how we handle these issues."

Mobile browsing/ WhatsApp has been temporarily suspended in Brazil by ambrose0012(m) : 12:19 am On Jul 21

WhatsApp was temporarily suspended in Brazil after a judge said the company had failed to hand over information requested in a criminal investigation.

The third suspension in two years lasted for a few hours, affecting millions of users.

But Supreme Court judge Ricardo Lewandowski later lifted the nationwide blockage, saying it was disproportionate.

WhatsApp said they did not have access to the details requested.

The most recent suspension happened in May, and forced 100 million people to turn to alternative services - a huge proportion of the internet-using population in a country with some of the world's highest mobile phone charges.

How people use WhatsApp to share breaking news with the world

In March, a Facebook executive was detained overnight for failing to comply with an attempt to block WhatsApp.

A Whatsapp spokesperson had said: "As we've said in the past we cannot share information we don't have access to.

"Indiscriminate steps like these threaten people's ability to communicate, to run their businesses, and to live their lives."
