Narrating the facts, the Community One District Police Commander, Supt. Leaks/ Italian Taricone fights for Muntari in racial abuse incident by PrettyPrisi(f) : 8:21 am On May 09

The Honorary Consul of Ghana to Italy, Massimiliano Colasuonno Taricone, played a key role in overturning the one match ban on Ghana and Pescara midfielder Sulley Muntari.

Muntari was handed a match ban after protesting racial chants and prejudice against him during Seria A encounter a week ago.

The former AC Milan man’s ban attracted international attention resulting in the meeting between the player and the consul, which the latter promised his backing.

Our checks indicate that, His Excellency Massiliano Colasuonno Taricone, took the matter up by urging the Italian Football Association to rescind the decision and overturn the suspension.

The Football Association complied, overturned the decision which made Muntari legible for action over the weekend.

The consul said in an interview that, “I deem it as a privilege more than a duty, and I would like to thank the Association for listening to the public outcry in our quest to right this wrong. “ We will work together soon to have a Serie A football Academy in Ghana for the Ghanaian youth.”

He promised Ghanaians living in Italy not hesitate to consult the Embassy or the representative bodies as the Consul when confronted by challenges in Italy.

Leaks/ Help us fight for justice – Late Adams Mahama’s Family tells Bugri Naabu by PrettyPrisi(f) : 12:45 am On May 10

Family of the Late Adams Mahama, Upper East Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP),  says it welcomes fresh evidence to the ongoing criminal proceeding involving the death of the late chairman.

The maverick Northern regional chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party Daniel Bugri Naabu has accused two ministers in the Akufo-Addo government of being involved in the plot that led to the murder of Adams Mahama.

“…Otiko has been a controversial woman in the party. As I’m telling you, this Adams issue, she was deeply involved, so because of that most of us who know her will call her a controversial woman.

“You’ll be surprised that some of these people who masterminded the killing of Adams have come to take positions in the government … like the Upper East Regional Minister. He was deeply involved in the masterminded killing of Adams,” Mr. Naabu told Radio XYZ.

However, the family told Kasapa 102.5 FM that they are weighing all options to the final determination of the matter, and hence will not discard as witness anyone who has knowledge relevant to the event leading to the killing of late Adams.

Spokesperson for the family, Muazu Issaka, who made this appeal in an interaction with Fiifi Banson on Kasapa 102.5 FM, Tuesday, May 9, 2017, said the family is counting on Chairman Bugri Naabu to assist them fight for justice.

“As far as the case is still pending in court, we plead with anyone that has tangential evidence to the substantive case to tender it in court, but we will not ask the court to invite anybody. Chairman Bugri Naabu knows late Adams very well, and to some extent they were friends. Both were Regional Chairmen of the party and were attending meetings together. So if he(Naabu) has said he has some evidence we might not know, we’ll urge him to go ahead and help us get to the root of the matter. We want justice for late Adams Mahama. Even if the court had ruled on the matter already, and we were still not okay with the justice carried, we would have appealed the matter based on the fresh evidence that may come up. So we are asking Bugri Naabu never to hesitate to adduce the fresh evidence in our case which may to a large extent impact on the case pending.”

Leaks/ President Can’t Punish Bugri Naabu- FF Anto by PrettyPrisi(f) : 9:04 pm On May 10

Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Daniel Bugri Naabu is set to appear before the president later today for engaging in what has been described as media war with the Minister for Gender and Social Protection, Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba.

But an official of the party has revealed that the Flagstaff House cannot punish the vociferous Northern Daniel Bugri Naabu because the president has not got such powers to sanction party people who are not part of his government.

“The   President cannot act arbitrarily to sanction Bugri Naabu for misconducting himself”, First Vice Chairman of NPP, Mr Fredrick Fredua Anto stated.

“The President is much worried about the current happenings in the party but he cannot punish Bugri Naabu. It is the party who can do that”, he explained.

Hon Otiko Afisa Djaba and Mr. Daniel Bugri Naabu have been at each other’s throats since last week with one accusing the other of taking bribes and murdering of the former Upper East Regional chairman of the party, Adams Mahama.

Many including the Minority Leader in parliament Haruna Iddrisu have called on President Akufo-Addo to sanction the two with his executive powers at President of the Republic and leader of NPP.

But speaking on Kumasi-based Nyhira FM , the first Vice Chairman stated the Flagstaff House can only punish the Minister for trading insults in public which amounts to gross misconduct as a member of government.

While condemning the conduct of Mr. Bugri Naabu, he said the party will take a decision to punish him on such wild allegations against the two Ministers of State.

Daniel Bugri Naabu, on Monday accused both Hon Rockson Bukari, the Upper East Regional Minister, and Honourable Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Ms Otiko Afisa Djaba, for having a hand in the acid bath and subsequent death of the party’s late Upper East Regional chairman Mahama Adams in 2015.

“You could remember Adams Mahama who certainly died when he was bathed with acid, it was through the same secret meetings …”, Bugri Naabu declared in an interview with Radio XYZ while responding to allegations of bribery made against him by Gender Minister Ms Otiko whose alleged “secret” meeting he disrupted on during the weekend.

According to acerbic tongue Chairman, he is surprised the very people that orchestrated the killing of Chairman Adams are in government. “You’ll be surprised that some of these people who masterminded the killing of Adams have come to take positions in the government … like the Upper East Regional Minister. He was heavily involved in the masterminded killing of Adams,” Bugri told the interviewer.

Otiko is a controversial woman in the party, and was also involved in the murder of Chairman Adams. ‘I’m telling you, this Adams issue, she was deeply involved, he claimed

Leaks/ Otiko may be sacked in Akufo Addo’s first reshuffle – Kweku Baako by PrettyPrisi(f) : 2:23 am On May 11

Veteran Jounalist, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako says President Akufo Addo may dismiss Gender Minister, Otiko Afisa Djaba in any major reshuffle in government if she does not turn on a new leaf.

The Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, who is very close to the corridors of power is of the opinion that it is too early in the day for the minister and the Northern Regional Chairman of the party to be creating problems for the government, adding that “if the snake is causing trouble its head must be cut.”

Otiko Afisa Djaba has been involved in a feud with her fellow party member who’s the ruling NPP Northern Regional Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu.

The two senior party members for three consecutive days launched scathing attacks against each other with serious allegations some of which borders on criminality being made in the media.

Whereas Otiko has claimed the Chairman has taken goats and cows as bribes and promised people jobs, the latter on his part has accused the Minister and her colleague of being involved in the plot that led to the murder of Adams Mahama, the late NPP’s Upper East regional chairman. A matter that is currently before an Accra High Court.

The conduct of the two officials have been roundly condemned by a large section of the public, who have decsribed the duo’s behaviour as highly represensible.

Commenting on the matter on Peace FM, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako condemned Otiko’s conduct saying ” I think if she’s not careful she’ll be an early casualty in any major reshuffle.”

He said it’s obvious that the Minister didn’t handle herself well.

I don’t believe that allegation. The Minister must be compelled to provide something of evidential value to back up her allegation that the Regional Chairman was taking bribes in order to influnce the appointments of MMDCEs. Nothing short of that will help the situation.

He added: “If you add up these two personalities (Otiko and Bugri Naabu) and the sort of things they are saying and the effects they have, what else can you say, but to say that they are walking disasters. At such an early stage of the Akufo Addo administration. They shouldn’t be doing this. Bugri is not a minister, but the party structures have some powers to discipline him. What he’s doing is bring the party’s name and image into disrepute.”

Leaks/ Mawarko saga: Victim’s eye problem is from onions – Jihad tells Court by PrettyPrisi(f) : 12:01 am On May 12

The embattled Abelemkpe Branch Supervisor of Marwako Fast Food Restaurant, Jihad Chaaban has told the District Court at Abeka that Evelyn Boakye’s eye problem was as a result of onions the victim was cutting.

He also denied ever holding the victim’s head into blender full of pepper but rather he held the chin of Evelyn Boakye after she made a mistake at the kitchen.

At the first day when the accused person opened his defence in a case in which he has been charged with three counts to wit; Offensive Conduct to breach of peace, assault and causing harm, he vehemently denied dipping the face of the victim into pepper.

Chaaban, who was giving evidence through an Arabic Interpreter Mohammed Mubarak Hidir, a lecturer at the University of Ghana said “I am a Muslim and I believe in Prophet Mohammed, Peace be onto him and that I cannot do this kind of thing. I didn’t do it and I cannot do it.”

When asked about the victim’s claim that he manhandled her, he continued: “The Prophet did not ask us to do these kinds of things so I never did such that thing.”

There was drama in court as at the point of the evidence the interpreter had a misunderstanding with the lawyer of the accused for misinterpreting his clients’ words.

This made the trial judge, Victoria Quansah to ask the accused to clarify his claims in English which he (Jihad Chaaban) did. The case has been adjourned to 18Th May, 2017 for continuation of the evidence.

A female worker of the Abelenkpe Branch of Mawarko was allegedly maltreated by Chaaban, a Lebanese supervisor, for ostensibly fidgeting with a blender she was using to blend pepper on February 26, 2017.

The young lady, Evelyn Boakye, had her face immersed in blended pepper for about five minutes and was subsequently locked up by Chaaban for hours before she was released to leave the workplace.

The Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police Mrs Afia Tenge, had indicated that the police immediately arrested Chaaban on February 28, 2017 after receiving a complaint from the victim.

In his evidence to the court presided over by Her Worship Mrs Victoria Quansah, the accused said he has been a supervisor of for two years and some months and that on that fateful day, February 26, 2017 he was outside the kitchen and heard the sound of the blender.

He said as the supervisor in charge he went to the kitchen to see what was happening and upon reaching there he saw two employees, one Sussan, who works at the fruit department and Evelyn Boakye who also works at the rice department preparing fresh pepper.

According to him, he turned off the blender which was making the sound because the two female staff did not know how to use the blender.

“It is not their work to prepare this fresh pepper, so when I entered I saw this container full of onions. I realised because of this the engine was making that sound because it is my work, I realised this is not the way we prepare fresh pepper.

The mistake was that Evelyn Boakye filled the blender with onion and was beside the blender. I asked her what she was doing, she said to me in a derogatory manner; don’t you know what we are doing? We are preparing fresh pepper. Do you think I don’t know you are preparing fresh pepper, I also asked her, but this is not how to do it.

I told her to look inside the container of the blender but she was looking elsewhere meaning she does not want to look at the mistake she made. I told her twice to look inside the blender but she did not so I tapped and turned her chin to let her know what she had done. I looked at her face and she was sharing tears.”

Leaks/ AUDIO: We’ll beg gov’t. to exempt actors from paying tax – New Actors Guild President by PrettyPrisi(f) : 12:02 am On May 12

The new president of the Ghana Actors Guild, Samuel Fiscian has admitted that Ghanaian actors don’t pay tax.

According to the former Director of ‘Chorkor Trotro’, TV series he wouldn’t oppose actors not paying tax but will humbly ask His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo to spare Ghanaian actors from paying tax.

“I won’t kick against actors paying tax but I’ll plead with President Nana Addo to exempt us from paying because the film making business has declined woefully,” he added.

Speaking on Kasapa Entertainment with sit-in host Akwasi Nsiah on Kasapa 102.5Fm, Sammy Fiscian said should the guild executives get the opportunity to speak with the President they will plead with the government to scrap off tax payment by actors as done for headporters (Kayayei).

When told by the host about the repercussion of failure to pay tax as a citizen of the country, the Director of ‘Cow N Chicken’ series still insisted, “We will tell the Government our plights and the need to exempt us from paying tax.”

He said one of the major issues that has bedevilled the guild is welfare scheme, adding that before his one year term ends in 2018, actors’ complaints about welfare would be resolved.

“As a new President of Ghana Actors Guild my main aim is to revive welfare of actors which has become dormant,” He noted.

According to him, most of the aged movie stars go through alot in terms of quality healthcare and it so worrying seeking for support from the public.

He said it is not the best for prominent people who have contributed to the movie industry and the GDP growth of the country to go begging for help when their health situation gets out of hand.

“It’s heartbreaking for veteran actors who are incapacitated due to sickness will go publicly to seek for fund to support their health treatment, so in my term as president of the Guild, I would extensively work with the rest of the team for all actors to benefit from the welfare,” he said.

He added that members of the guild would be educated more and supported to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme.

“The welfare scheme will be revived but we as actors and actresses can’t solely rely on the contributions from the welfare since the amount is too small, so we will agree on a new amount payment policy plan and also the welfare will be officially launched with the help of Government, individuals and other industry players.

“We will talk to both members and non members to see the need to help make the welfare scheme work effectively for the benefit of all,” he said.

When asked if he has come to revive Ghana Actors Guild or it will be seen as it used to be, he answered, “If at the end of my tenure Ghana Actors Guild is still the same as I came to meet, then It was unnecessary for me to contest for the Presidency position because as at now, the state of Ghana Actors Guild is nothing to write home about, that is the fact of the case, so sad.”

He said his aim is to reorganise and re-brand the Ghana Actors Guild to reach out to more actors since there are known faces and individuals at better positions who have alot to offer.

Leaks/ BUGRI NAABU SAYS ROCKSON BUKARI & OTIKO AFISA DJABA ARE DEEPLY INVOLVED IN THE KILLING OF ADAMS MAHAMA! by PrettyPrisi(f) : 12:02 am On May 12

This man, Bugri Naabu, has consistently leaked info on alleged secret meetings he happens to be part of and/or aware of in NPP circles!

Virtually all that he has leaked from such meetings have come to pass. I do not intend to go into what he has said which has come to pass because discerning Ghanaians have been witnesses to this man who clearly suffers from a condition I call “verbal diarhooea”. He speaks anyhow and can’t keep secrets.

Bugri Naabu is, indeed, very credible and so anything he says must not be taken lightly.

When in the run up to the December 2016 general elections he claimed he had been bribed by President Mahama and his brothers, Mustapha Hamid now Minister for Information described Bugri Naabu as credible and some Ghanaians believed him.

So, what has changed for the same Bugri not to be credible this time in alleging that the persons were deeply involved in masterminding the killing of Adams Mahama? In my view, nothing has happened to Bugri for him to become someone who is not credible now.

For now, according to Bugri Naabu, Otiko Djaba and Rockson Bugri, both Ministers in the Akufo-Addo government were deeply involved in masterminding the killing of Adams Mahama, former Upper East Regional Chairman of the NPP.

The police must arrest/invite these persons including Bugri himself to assist them in unraveling the true killers of Adams Mahama some two years ago.

The cock and bull stories being told by Bugri in his alleged letter of retraction and/apology cannot and must not fool anyone.

He says in that letter to lawyers for Rockson Bukari that the very serious allegation against the Upper East Regional Minister was a slip of tongue? After stating the allegation on two different radio stations – Radio XYZ and Class FM, both in Accra? Certainly the cat is out of the bag in the court of public opinion.

Bugri’s letter of apology/retraction has indeed further muddied the waters. It’s become murkier.

He had a problem with Otiko and they trading shameful accusations against each other. Why was Rockson Bukari’s name mentioned because he was not part of the banter between himself and Otiko!

Now that he claims to have apologised and/or retracted his comments against Rockson Bukari, what about Otiko? Does he still stand by his allegation against Otiko that she was deeply involved in masterminding Adams Mahama’s death?

At this stage, nobody can say that Bugri’s allegation is a fact or not.

The only way we can be helped to make informed decisions on the truth or otherwise of his allegation is for the police/Attorney-General or her Department to arrest/invite these persons and put them through the criminal investigative process just like the person who is currently facing trial in court was put through.

Our law must not be seen to be a respecter of persons. Irrespective of one’s position in government or society the law must be seen to be applied equally to all citizens.

There are those who believe that some persons might have sponsored, planned and executed the killing of Adams Mahama in order to blame it on others. With Bugri’s expose’, that thinking is gaining currency!

God is indeed Good!

Let’s eschew hypocrisy. The truth will surely be revealed

Leaks/ Naabu/Otiko feud: GBA,GJA silence disappointing – NDC by PrettyPrisi(f) : 12:03 am On May 12

A Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho has taken a swipe at the Ghana Bar Association(GBA) and the Ghana Journalist Association(GJA) questioning the two bodies over their silence in the controversial issues emerging from the governing party.

He said it is disappointing that the two bodies have failed to take any strong moral stance on the fall out from the altercations of the two leaders in the NPP which somewhat has criminal dimensions to it.

“As a responsible political party in the entity of the NDC, we are saying that we’re surprised that the Ghana Bar Association(GBA), the Ghana Journalist Association(GJA), are quiet on this issue. It is a shame and they must bow down their heads in shame, and it’s a disgraceful conduct on their part, because if it was I Koku Anyidoho who said this, only God knows what the GBA would be saying by now. Why this level of hypocrisy and double standards?” he questioned on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM Thursday.

However, he commended the Ghana Integrity Initiative for demanding a serious probe into the worrying issues from the governing party.

“I salute the Ghana Integrity Initiative(GII) who’s been saying that the apology is not enough and that the alleged bribery claim must be investigated,” he said.

The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Otiko Afisa Djaba, and the Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Bugri Naabu, have been bonded by the party to be of good behavior.

The decision was taken after a National Council meeting by the party Tuesday over the recent public altercations between the Gender Minister, and the Party’s Northern Regional Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu.

The two leaders have apologized unreservedly for their action, but Anyidoho insisted that the apologies won’t suffice the criminal allegations made against each other over their feud.

Leaks/ VIDEO: FIFA Legends take to the pitch for mini-tournament by PrettyPrisi(f) : 12:03 am On May 12

The day between the FIFA Council and Congress in Bahrain focused on the FIFA Legends, who took time out of their schedules to join a grassroots event for local children and play in a small, feel-good tournament made up of teams from FIFA, the six confederations and the Bahrain Football Association.

Following a ‘think tank’ with FIFA President Gianni Infantino and a media session in which select Legends answered questions and gave their thoughts from the gathered press, footballing icons Ronaldinho, Pablo Aimar, Cafu, Karina LeBlanc and Nia Kunzer ran through drills with the gathered youngsters on the Bahrain National Stadium pitch.

“[The grassroots training] was a very positive experience especially because it was not only the male legends but women as well, and I think that was a good thing for the Bahraini kids to see,” said Kunzer. “It’s important that they see us at the same level as the men, and of course it is always great fun to play with the kids.”

Where the message meets the sport
After that warm-up, the eight squads split into two groups under a full moon and turned on the effort and the skills for the watching crowd and media. Not only was it a chance to see the likes of Diego Maradona, David Trezeguet and Jay Jay Okocha up close and personal, but the larger message of FIFA’s focus on football and inclusion was on the front of everyone’s mind.

“Men, women, legends, all confederations, all of us on a football pitch. That’s the message: football unites people,” said former Real Madrid and Spain international Michel Salgado, who played on the AFC team. “We are here to unite and play against racism, discrimination and in favour of women’s football.
