Ignore genral edu. and make technical & vocational education free – Artisans Association by Manuel(: 4:26 pm

The President of  theArtisans Association of Ghana, Gideon Bidor Yaw has called on government and the Ministry of Education to ignore and forget the Free SHS policy and rather fund technical and vocational education.

He explained that, the demand is not to discount the essence of general education but rather to place prominence on the technical and vocational sector which has faced years of total neglect.

According to Mr Bidor, Ghana can only be productive and competitive in the global market if we take technical education more serious.

In an interview with KwakuOwusu Adjei on Nyansapo on Agoo Tv, Gideon Bidormaintained that the thorny issue of youth unemployment will be no more if investment and budgetary allocation is improved.

He again observed  thatthe association is ready to collaborate effectively with the ministries and agencies tasked to implement the one district one factory policy.

President Bidor used the opportunity to do away with the misconception that technical education is for unintelligent students.

He advised artisans like masons, carpenters, electricians, welders, plumbers, glass and metal fabricators, steel benders etc to register and join the association to make it strong and effective in advancing the interests of the group.
