Supreme Court order to Auditor General will heighten corruption-lecturer by pamelavee(f) : 8:56 am

Political Science Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Technology (KNUST) Mohammed Abass, has stated powers affirmed by Supreme Court for Auditor General to retrieve  monies wrongful paid  to private companies by the state  is  panacea to corruption in the country.

“The ruling much as it is good I do not think it will  be solution or that is going to perform the magic of our inability to retrieve those monies” the lecturer stated.

“The focus should be why is it that the Auditor General has not been able to effectively utilize its powers for all this while” he asked on Ultimate FM’s morning Show.

The Supreme Court has directed that the Auditor General can retrieve monies wrongful monies paid to private companies under the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.

“Even though it is a good thing but we should not be enthusiastic about it if we do not implement the ruling.  …just within a short time the ruling will be fizzled out and we go back to the same situation “he predicted

“A court ordered that Woyome should pay back monies wrongly paid him and why is that we are not seeing any progress now?” Mr. Mohammed Abass asked.

According him, he became sad after hearing from the current Auditor General that his predecessors are unable to retrieve monies paid to wrong hands due to lack of political will wondering how things will work well this time.
